Spring
2006
The sun and warmth are on their way
back to the main office in Farmington, NY and the
Denailers can no longer see their breath out in the
yard - IT'S FINALLY SPRING! Here's the update on what's
happening as we thaw out of our winter chill here
at Pioneer Millworks:
The Western office gets the exterior
presence they deserve in a new truss and sign. We
thought we'd bring a little bit of wood to the brick
building, so New Energy Works fabricated this great
Douglas Fir truss for us and Iain welded this plasma
cut steel sign that has some backlighting to it. Pretty
fancy stuff. Stop by and say Hi to Kyle and see the
new sign if you're out and about in Salt Lake City,
UT.
And speaking of Western additions -
may we introduce you to our new Western Sales addition.
Meet Micki Johnson, who comes to us from an interior
design and custom cabinetry sales background. [This
gal as the skills to make your home look fabulous!]
Check out
the people page to learn a little more out
Micki and get her email address so she can help you
find the perfect Pioneer Millworks floor for your
next project.
In fact take a moment to stop by the
Open House that the folks at Pioneer Millworks
West are throwing to introduce Micki, our
new show room, and some new furniture by the NEWWoodworks
guys to the Utah design crowd. Join us Wednesday,
June 7th from 3-7pm for cheese, wine, other refreshments
and some good conversation.
We've had our hands in a couple of local
community projects this winter. Habitat for Humanity
came to us in January and asked if we could provide
some flooring for a local home they were building.
We were happy to oblige and sent off some Knotty
'N Naily Douglas Fir that we have to say turned
out to be quite a beautiful floor.
And while that was going on, some of
our Pioneer Millworks crew was busy chiseling away
at a timber frame New Energy Works is donating to
the Rochester North East Block Club
Alliance - The
Vineyard. All of the materials, time, and
design of the frame was donated and we'd like to thank
the PMW crew that gave up their afternoon to help.

The
Douglas Fir truss and sign over the Western
Office was raised this March, adding a presence
to the brick façade. Here Steve Herrick
and Iain Harrison make the final adjustments.
